Universal design is the design of products, services and environments that are usable by as many people as possible regardless of age, ability or situation. It is designing for adaptation, safety and convenience in the home. Universal designs can include, access ramps, door widening accessible bath tubs, grab bars, natural lighting and multi-level counter tops and cabinets in the kitchen.
